Looking for a phone number other than Orlando?

Need a second or temporary 321 area code number in a nearby city? In addition to Orlando, Hushed services and includes Titusville, University Park, Wekiwa Springs, Winter Park, Winter Springs, and Oviedo.

Area code 321 serves Brevard County, Florida, Space Coast Region and Seminole County, Florida.

Locations covered by this code include Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Cape Canaveral, Casselberry, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Kissimmee, Melbourne, Merritt Island, Mims, Oak Ridge, Ocoee, Orlando, Oviedo, Palm Bay, Pine Hills, Rockledge, Sanford, Satellite Beach, St. Cloud, Titusville, University Park, Wekiva Springs, Winter Park, and Winter Springs.

Additionally, area code 321 serves the "Space Coast" region. This is the area within the state of Florida adjacent to the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral.

This is the location for all of NASA’s manned space flights, and an important part of scientific history. Because the earth's rotation is fastest near the equator, it's essential to launch shuttles as close to this area as possible. The Space Coast is perfect for spacecraft departures for this reason.

Area code 321 is known as the “countdown code” because it references the countdown sequence used for spacecraft launches (“3-2-1-liftoff!”).

321 was originally assigned to suburban Chicago under the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). It was changed to its current location after local residents petitioned for it.

The NANP was created in 1947 to format phone numbers in the United States and Canada. It divided the entire territory and assigned each geographical region a three-digit prefix, which we know as “area codes.”

Each telephone number in the US and Canada is assigned a seven-digit telephone number. These seven-digit strings are unique only within their specific area codes, and can be repeated in other area codes. The area code, central office code and station code together form a complete 10 digit telephone number.

Seven-digit (local format) dialing allows a caller to contact a local number without including its area code. In most of the US and Canada, 10-digit dialling is mandatory. For international calling, the North American Numbering Plan uses the international code +1.

Orlando is known for Seaworld Orlando, and the Walt Disney World Resort and the Magic Kingdom theme park. The amusement park, in particular, is a popular destination for tourists.
